COMMENTARY:
Spurs fans are do despondent because Eriksen is Mr Irreplaceable. The club don’t have another player of his ilk, capable of creating chances by the bucketload with vision, radar-precise distribution and technical brilliance. It’s why Eriksen starts every Premier League and Champions League match. Mauricio Pochettino clearly feels he can’t do without the great Dane, who has been an ever-present for the club’s seven matches in the two premier competitions this season. Another remarkable thing about Eriksen, which also makes him a huge favourite among supporters, is that he is as durable as he is brilliant. Remarkably, the 26-year-old last suffered an injury in 2015 and has missed only nine matches through injury since joining Tottenham in 2013. Erik Lamela, eat your heart out. Spurs should be able to cope at Huddersfield without their creator-in-chief, but no-one will have a clue until the match, as Eriksen almost always plays.

Huge blow losing Eriksen! Surely Son, Moura and Dele behind Harry. Although Lamela will be looking to start too.
