A section of football fans on Twitter have paid credit to Everton for recognising the immense potential of Richarlison after his stunning Brazil debut.
Pundits led by Paul Merson and many supporters questioned the £50million the Goodison Park outfit spent on their most expensive summer signing.
But many took to social media to admit they were wrong over Richarlison after he marked his full Brazil debut with two goals in their 5-0 win over El Salvador today.

COMMENTARY:
Twitter isn’t usually renowned for apologies, as keyboard warriors stick ideologically to their opinions come rain or shine. But plenty admitted today their judgement was incorrect over Richarlison, a potential £50million fee that they now recognise could prove shrewd business. Sky Sports pundit Merson was the most high profile critic of the cost of the Brazilian’s transfer, claiming “I think that’s [Richarlison signing] what’s spoiled the window if I’m being perfectly honest”. That was hyperbolic and slightly unfair, although Everton recruitment chief Marcel Brands did subsequently admit to paying a premium to prise him from Watford. Richarlison has scored three goals for the Merseysiders already this season and provided the pace and penetration they were crying out for. But he also started last season equally impressively, so no-one should be getting too carried away.
There might be a day in the future where we will all say sorry for laughing at Everton for spending big on Richarlison (it was £35m).
It is not this day but the day will come very soon.

The same lot were saying Everton were deluded paying so much for Richarlison when anyone that actually watched him could see why they did

That money Everton paid for Richarlison doesn't look ridiculous now. They will get double for what they paid. Most likely from Barcelona. They will need a long-term replacement for Suarez soon, and are obsessed with having good Brazilian footballers.

Richarlison is going to end up being a bargain isn’t he?

Anyone still got doubts over Everton’s purchase of Richarlison? I been telling you, the guy will be a world class forward and will be at an elite European club by 2020.
