Michael Owen has predicted that Everton will secure all three points at home this weekend when they take on West Ham United at Goodison Park.

He believes that the Toffees will ensure their second win of the Premier League season on Sunday, despite the absence of key summer signing Richarlison, who is still suspended following his red card in the clash with Bournemouth a few weeks’ back.

Owen added that Marco Silva’s side were particularly poor against Huddersfield in their last fixture, which ended 1-1.

“Everton were disappointing against Huddersfield last time when they missed the skills of the suspended Richalison who scored twice on his Brazil debut against El Salvador midweek,” Owen told the Bet Victor blog.

“The Blues must again do without the exciting Brazilian against West Ham this weekend, but I feel Marco Silva’s side can keep the points.

“Everton have won more PL games against the Hammers (24) than any other club and Manuel Pellegrini will become the first West Ham manager to lose their first five league games of the season in their history if they lose at Goodison.”

OPINION

It comes as no surprise that Owen has predicted for Everton to take all the spoils this Sunday, especially if you take West Ham’s current form into account so far. The fact that he has even predicted a win for them in the absence of Richarlison goes to show that it will not take much to beat the Hammers. However, the Toffees have other quality players that they can call upon in this match, and looking at the state of West Ham’s defence at the moment, it will not be hard to get a result. Once Richarlison is back in the side, Everton will definitely be scoring more goals – but for now, they must continue to cope without his talents. All in all, a win at home for the Toffees this weekend will prove to be a good start to life on Merseyside for boss Marco Silva, even if it does condemn West Ham to their fifth loss.
