A section of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to annihilate Cenk Tosun for his performance in the 3-1 defeat to West Ham at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon.
Tosun, 27, continued his barren start to the season as he failed to have enough of an impact spearheading the Toffees attack, missing a few glittering chances with his hold-up play also coming under scrutiny.
Some Everton fans were seething with the Turkey international on Twitter, with one claiming that the Merseyside club needs to “get rid” of him when they can.

Tosun is stinking the gaff out here. Can't hold the ball up and it's catching our full backs up the pitch.

OPINION
Tosun really had a stinker against West Ham and it can only be so long before Silva axes him from the lone-striker role and gives someone else the chance to shine. Since signing from Bestikas in January, Tosun has scored six goals in 20 appearances across all competitions, and with such a wealth of quality midfielders behind him, he should be doing better. His first-half header that went straight at West Ham goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was criminal after a beautiful cross by Lucas Digne. Tosun was also culpable for the first goal when his inability to hold up the ball and use his muscle saw the Hammers win the ball and charge up the field. Silva doesn’t have many options up front and maybe when January comes around, he will look to replace the hapless Turkey international. But for now, you can understand the frustrations of these Everton fans and he must be dropped soon.
