Tottenham will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Watford when they welcome Liverpool to Wembley on Saturday – and Mauricio Pochettino must make one bold change to his side if he wants a win.

Christian Eriksen must be axed to the bench for the encounter after a terribly poor start to the season by the Denmark international.

The 26-year-old mainstay has been nowhere near his best in the opening weeks of the campaign and simply must be dropped out of the side and replaced with up-and-coming midfielder Harry Winks, who is going to be well up for taking on Liverpool in what would be his first start of the season.

With Hugo Lloris likely to remain on the sidelines with injury, Pochettino must start Michel Vorm in goals behind a back-four of Kieran Trippier, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Ben Davies.

Davinson Sanchez was not involved in the 3-0 win at Manchester United but did feature in the loss against Watford, so he must also be dropped from the side and replaced with Eric Dier, who should start in the holding midfield role.

Mousa Dembele must partner fringe player Winks in the centre of midfield with Dele Alli and the in-form Lucas Moura taking up roles in the attacking midfield positions.

Up front, Harry Kane is yet to move up the gears this season but he is without doubt Pochettino’s best centre-forward and he simply must start.
