A number of Leeds United fans have turned to Twitter to react to senior midfielder Mateusz Klich after he blasted his own display against Preston on Twitter.

The six foot tall (source: Transfermarkt) Polish star, who has been a revelation in the centre this season, played most of the match against the north west outfit at Elland Road on Tuesday night, helping his side to a comfortable 3-0 win.

However, he was not left satisfied with his own performance, and after missing some good scoring opportunities blasted himself on his personal Twitter account, insisting he needed to get some new shooting boots.

However, the fans were not having any of it and responded with rave reviews of his performance, insisting he more than made up for it with the rest of his game.

This is Futbol has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

Opinion

This is brilliant to see not only from Klich but from the Leeds faithful. It must be said that the Polish international did pass up some gilt edged opportunities and on another day, against quality opposition, he would have been punished for his wastefulness. Taking to Twitter to criticise himself shows he is always wanting to improve and that even with a 3-0 win he is not satisfied, and that appears to have endeared him with the Leeds supporters. As for the fans, their support and backing of Klich will only give him confidence, and demonstrates the great atmosphere which has built around Elland Road this season. Had this been eight to ten months ago, the supporters’ responses might have been quite different, but for as long as he is putting in impressive performances, goals or not, they are right behind him and the rest of Marcelo Bielsa’s squad.
