I would be happy to have Lafferty as an option, but he's not worth more than Wallace. Lee is a fantastic professional.

Thought it was only a matter of time before Lee Wallace became part of @RangersFC’s offer for Kyle Lafferty.

COMMENTARY:
Rangers fans appear torn over Wallace, the former skipper who still has a disciplinary cloud hanging over from last season and the dressing room ruck with ex-manager Graeme Murty. The 10-times Scotland international is highly respected by a considerable section of Ibrox supporters who recall his efforts in the lower leagues, when he was the outstanding player in some of the weakest Gers sides in living memory. With 259 appearances for Rangers under his belt, Wallace’s experience and pedigree have a value, but the club don’t appear to regard that as high as they once did. By throwing him as collateral in a new bid for Lafferty, the Ibrox top brass are making it clear he is surplus to requirements. Wallace would have surmised that the writing was on the wall after the summer signings of full-back pair Jon Flanagan and Borna Barisic, who have leapfrogged him in the pecking order. He should quit now while the fans still have fond memories.
