A section of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to express their delight amid a new report that the club are preparing a £45million bid for Wilfried Zaha.
The Sun claim the north Londoners are ready to lodge an offer made up an initial £30million plus a further £15million in add-ons, as well as a “massive sell-on clause”.
Spurs supporters are mostly delighted at such a high-level pursuit of a proven Premier League attacking player, with many claiming he could be the missing piece of the jigzaw for Mauricio Pochettino’s side and one saying he would be the “steal of the century” even at the price suggested.

COMMENTARY:
The majority of Spurs fans are firmly in favour of a stunning late-window swoop for a player who they recognise has developed considerably from the inconsistent operator of his early Premier League days. Zaha almost singlehandedly kept Palace up last season and his ability to dismantle opposition defences has led to a queue of admirers who reportedly include Chelsea and Liverpool. Fast, technically brilliant and with a box of tricks that gets bigger by the match, he is a seriously good player who would provide A-list competition for the likes of Son Heung-Min, Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura, and possibly Dele Alli, too. Sure, Zaha would not come cheap, but, as a few fans suggest, Spurs could sweeten the deal by throwing in a fringe player like Moussa Sissoko or Georges-Kevin NKoudou.
