A section of West Ham fans have absolutely annihilated Pedro Obiang on Twitter after witnessing his poor performance in the 3-1 win over AFC Wimbledon at Kingsmeadow on Tuesday night.
Manuel Pellegrini opted to hand Obiang, 26, his first appearance of the season against the Dons, but it turned out to be a terrible decision as the Spaniard received pelters from supporters on social media.
One West Ham fan told Obiang to “do one”, while another claimed he had an “absolute stinker”.

OPINION
It wasn’t that long ago when a lot of fans were urging Pellegrini to start Obiang to shore up the midfield, but it seems the Chilean was right to keep omitting the midfielder for Premier League games after his shocker in the Carabao Cup. The Spaniard was a decent player when he first joined the Hammers but injuries look as though they have taken their toll on him and his performance against Wimbledon was that of a player who is out of his depth – against a League One club. Fans were right to be unhappy with his display and more of them should really be calling for Obiang to leave the club after he was linked with an exit earlier in the summer transfer window. It’s unfortunate because his injuries definitely played a role in his demise, but there is no room for sentiment in top-flight football and he should be sold sooner rather than later.
