West Bromwich Albion earned their first win in the Championship this season with a thrilling 4-3 away victory over Norwich on Saturday afternoon, but some fans have taken to Twitter to slam the display of right-back Allan Nyom.

Jordan Rhodes put the Canaries ahead after 24 minutes but the Baggies hit back with a double from Jay Rodriguez and a beautiful goal from Harvey Barnes.

Teemu Pukki halved the deficit before Hal Robson-Kanu restored West Brom’s lead, but Grant Hanley’s goal meant it was a nervous closing 10 minutes or so for Darren Moore’s side.

Nyom had an average game at right-back for the Baggies and many fans have taken to Twitter to tear into him for his display.

OPINION

These fans are quite obviously fuming with Nyom, and it is easy to see why. To top off an average display the right-back gave away possession in the build up to Norwich’s second goal, which threatened to undo a lot of the Baggies’ good work on the day. The club got the win in the end but it was not an easy victory by any stretch of the imagination, and there will need to be significant improvements if they want to achieve promotion this season. The Championship is an unforgiving league, and mistakes like that on a regular basis will see West Brom drop behind in the race for the top six, and Nyom must therefore buck up his ideas. It was not just the wing-back who was poor on Saturday however, and midfield looks to be an area of huge concern for manager Darren Moore at the start of such a long season.
