A section of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to pile misery on Stoke fans after James McClean had a shocker for Gary Rowett’s side in the 2-2 draw with Preston on Saturday.
McClean, 29, moved to the Bet365 from the Baggies in the summer after an abysmal 2017/18 campaign at The Hawthorns.
The Republic of Ireland international has since played 90 minutes in all of Stoke’s opening Championship fixtures, but was slammed for his display at Preston this weekend by some Albion fans who were clearly glad to see him go.

OPINION
These West Brom fans are obviously glad to see the back of McClean. Some of the winger’s performances last season borderlined on being reckless as he gave away a number of late free-kicks that ultimately saw the Baggies lose points on their way to relegation. In his entire spell at The Hawthorns he was criticised for his lack of ability and footballing brain – and it seems as though his move to Stoke has not changed any of that. McClean will continue to cost Stoke points until Gary Rowett takes the decision to drop him from his side. The Potters have to make an improvement soon after a poor start to the campaign and keeping McClean in the starting line-up is not going to help. He divides opinion anyway due to his political beliefs so his displays on the pitch will not help endear him to his new fans if he doesn’t play well.
