Victor Lindelof had a shocker of a game for Manchester United in their 3-2 defeat to Brighton on Sunday – and a section of fans taken to Twitter to tear the centre-back to shreds for his performance.
The 24-year-old had a game to forget in the centre of Jose Mourinho’s defence and copped the blame for the south coast club flying into the lead at the AMEX through Glenn Murray.
Some United fans were furious with the Sweden international, whose outing failed to improve over the 90 minutes, with one saying that he was “garbage” and that club should “get him gone”.

OPINION
You can see why Mourinho wanted to sign a new centre-back in the summer transfer window. Lindelof was a complete liability against a team that Man United should be seeing off without much difficulty. Fans are absolutely furious with the Swede and for the one supporter calling to “get him gone”, you have a point. Lindelof has never really settled down at Old Trafford and his performances have never been that expected by a Man United player. You would say that Mourinho has to get rid of him in January and find someone else (Harry Maguire?) to strengthen the backline, however will the Portuguese boss even make it until the winter if there are more performances like this on the horizon? The Red Devils are in a huge rut at the moment and they do not look as though they are going to come out of it for a long, long time.
