A section of Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to rage after the club confirmed that the opening of the new stadium has been postponed.
Spurs announced via the club’s official website that the clash against Liverpool on September 15 will no long be the first home game at the new state-of-the-art stadium, but instead will be played at Wembley.
Cardiff’s trip to North London in October will also be hosted at the national football stadium, as well as NFL fixtures that were scheduled to be played on the site of the old White Hart Lane.
Some Tottenham fans have gone berserk on social media with many pointing the blame at chairman Daniel Levy.

OPINION
You can see why these Tottenham fans are absolutely livid with the club. While in the grand scheme of things it probably will not matter that much as Wembley isn’t too far away from the site of the new stadium, it is annoying that stuff like this happens. It never seemed as though the new stadium was going to be ready in time for the clash with Liverpool judging by recent images of what still looked like a building site. With this news coming after a shocking transfer window in which not a single player was signed, it’s just another reason for fans to turn on Levy too, who appears to be having a lot of justifying of actions to do lately. It is a good job that Tottenham won against Newcastle on Saturday – just about – otherwise the backlash from this announcement would have been much worse. The mood around the club isn’t great at the moment and the only way that can be improved is by performances on the pitch – or a new contract for Toby Alderweireld.
