Ipswich are reported to have offered £2million for Rangers attacker Josh Windass, and Ipswich fans are thrilled at the prospect of signing him.
Reliable football website Football Insider claims that Ipswich are looking for a replacement for Martyn Waghorn, who could be off to Championship rivals Derby.
However, manager Steven Gerrard is reluctant to let him leave.
Windass played in the first Premiership game of the season, the 1-1 draw with Aberdeen, after speculation had grown about him leaving in the summer window.
£2million would seem like a steal for the player who scored 18 goals for Rangers last season, and many Ipswich fans feel the same way.
Two said he would be a “class signing” while another said he would be a game changer.
Here are the best reactions from excited Ipswich fans:

Josh Windass would be a class signing! Sadly, I can’t see Gerrard letting him go that easily. #ITFC

Windass would be a class signing, and would surely mean Jackson seen as more of a wide man. #itfc

OPINION
If Ipswich land Windass for £2million then they’ve got themselves one of the bargains of the summer window. Ipswich fans would be thrilled bur Rangers fans would lose their heads. Windass might not be the most popular Rangers player – he has had a fractious relationship with the fanbase – but he’s clearly worth more than that. £4million and perhaps Gerrard might start to have his head turned.
