Chris Sutton has absolutely destroyed Celtic defender Dedryck Boyata on Twitter after the player downed tools in an explosive transfer bombshell.
His agent Jacques Lichtenstein claimed in the Sun that he wouldn’t risk his career by playing for Celtic and Sutton has labelled him a “disgrace”.
He said that Boyata should be “grateful” to being given an opportunity at Celtic and that he was a “bombscare” at times.
He finished off by saying Celtic should get Boyata out of the building ASAP and get a new centre-half in.
Dedryck Boyata should be grateful Celtic gave him the opportunity to play… while he has some good attributes he has been a bombscare at times..He is a disgrace..Celtic need to get him out of the building ASAP..important thing is to get a quality centre half in now…

OPINION
Sutton has got this absolutely spot on. There are ways and means of engineering your exit from the club and this isn’t the way to do it. Boyata has had his career made by playing on a big stage with Celtic and treating your club like this is a disgrace. Celtic have a massively important important Champions League qualifier against AEK on Tuesday night and this is hugely distracting. The answer is clear. Get rid of him in the best way possible – for Celtic – and get a new centre-back in as quickly as possible. Celtic fans will hate what Boyata has done and with just cause – Boyata has definitely played his last game for Celtic and other clubs should definitely take note of how he’s acted. It could well be that his agent is behind all of this but Boyata has to take responsibility for his actions. He’s not a great player and is obviously trying to engineer a big move on the back of the World Cup. That’s fair enough. How he’s done it is completely unacceptable.
