Wolves are set to announce the signing of Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore today (Wednesday, 8 August) as the club plot yet more exciting business before the window shuts on Thursday, according to journalist Tim Nash.

The former Wolves correspondent for the Express and Star claimed on his personal Twitter account on Tuesday evening that the Spanish speed demon is to be revealed today, but that his arrival may not be the last of the new arrivals before the deadline.

He states that as many as two new arrivals are being plotted by Nuno Esperito Santo and his transfer team, including one exciting ‘marquee’ capture, as the club prepare for life back in the top flight following their Championship win.

Opinion

Traore’s arrival from Boro should install some flair and drive into the Wolves attack, although his injury means that fans will not see the best of him for some time. It has been a brilliant window for the club on paper, and both the team and the fans will be hoping that the new arrivals can play their part in a successful Premier League campaign. As for who might come through the door late in the window, that is anyone’s guess right now, but it sounds as though the Molineux outfit are not quite finished strengthening their side to try and stun the top flight with their quality. A marquee arrival suggests a relatively big name, and considering the spending power from the investors at the club, this could be a seminal moment in the club’s history. After years of trying to battle back to the Premier League, they have finally achieved their goal – now they are looking like a potent threat to the established elite of England’s top division.
