West Ham are keen to continue their transfer shopping spree and are interested in signing Real Betis centre-forward Antonio Sanabria, according to Spanish publication Marca.

The newspaper claimed on their website that the Paraguayan international has attracted interest from the Premier League side, who will bid £20million to sign the 22-year-old within the coming days.

The Hammers’ transfer activity has been strong this summer and are keen to adding another striker to their ever-growing squad.

Real Betis are keen to keep their strikers for another season after qualifying for a Europa League spot but high-money offers for Sanabria could alter their future plans.

Sanabria netted eight goals from 17 appearances for Betis last season despite battling with difficult injuries.

Good move for West Ham?

It is questionable whether Andy Caroll and Javier Hernandez are going to provide quality support to Marko Arnautovic next season as the club targets a strong league position.

On the other hand, his tendency for injuries is something that will worry Hammers supporters especially considering the bad luck which they have experienced with Andy Carroll over the years.

To have injury problems at such a young age is worrying and could put West Ham off from taking what is a tough risk.

Likely to happen?

Sanabria, who began his youth career at Barcelona, is a promising talent but with the many signings that West Ham have already made in the transfer window, may not require his assistance.

Manuel Pellegrini has already signed one Paraguayan after completing the signing of Fabian Balbuena from Corinthians.

Although West Ham seem to show intent for his compatriot, it feels like money would be wasted if a big transfer was to take place.
