Tottenham Hotspur left-back Danny Rose could make the move to Paris Saint-Germain but a deal could be secured last minute as a result of an investigation into the French giants, according to the Mirror.

The newspaper reports on their website that the defender – who is on £60,000-per-week (source: Spotrac) – could be sold or loaned out before the European transfer window shuts on August 31st.

The Mirror claims that the Ligue 1 side, who will once again rival Spurs in the Champions League this season, are keen to wrap up a deal for the 28-year-old, but that would come after the UEFA’s enquiry into their spending, which reportedly could come as late as next week, leaving little time for a deal to be sealed before the end of August.

With Ben Davies establishing himself as Mauricio Pochettino’s first choice left-back last season, Rose did not play as regularly as he would have liked.

Bundesliga side Schalke were said to be eager to take the World Cup star on, but the deal eventually fell through.

Good move for Tottenham?

Yes, it would end up being a good move for Spurs. Davies is Pochettino’s first choice for left-back, so Rose has evidently fallen down the pecking order as a result.

Rose’s presence is not essential to this Spurs’ team, who have demonstrated that they are more than capable of coping without him on the pitch.

He may have been selected to represent England at this summer’s World Cup, but Spurs are most certainly better off without him this season.

Likely to happen?

Yes, possibly. PSG seem keen for a move to happen and Rose looks more likely than ever to make the move to France.

However, UEFA’s investigation into their spending may put their plans on hold to sign him, which would end up being a major blow.

They will need to await the outcome of this enquiry in order to edge closer to a deal for Rose, but at the moment, it appears to be his most probable destination.
