Manchester City’s Joe Hart is set to sign for Burnley after the club accepted a bid of £4million, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the 31-year-old, who has achieved 75 caps for England, is travelling to their north west rivals to complete a medical ahead of a proposed transfer.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche is said to have launched a move for Hart earlier this week after Nick Pope was ruled out for three months after suffering a dislocated shoulder in the club’s Europa League tie against Aberdeen.

Dyche is also reportedly concerned by the lack of football that Tom Heaton has played in the last 12 months after his troublesome injury problems.

Good move for Manchester City?

Joe Hart has been left in complete exile ever since City boss Pep Guardiola arrived at the club two years ago.

The shot stopper probably did not know whether to laugh or cry after he was included in Manchester City’s USA tour but the Premier League winner has seen stock fall dramatically in the past two seasons.

The England international already faces tough competition at City, with Ederson and Claudio Bravo ahead in the pecking order.

Likely to happen?

Hart must put an end to his 12-year period at City if he is going to find regular match action although he will face competition from England compatriots Tom Heaton and Nick Pope.

With Pope sidelined for three months and the uncertainty of Tom Heaton’s return to action, Burnley should be keen to move for the experienced goalkeeper.

Hart has endured loan spells at Torino and West Ham in the past two seasons and will want a permanent move away from Manchester to resurrect the form in which he achieved title success with City.
