Former Tottenham chief and current Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has been holding personal talks with Spurs midfielder Moussa Sissoko with a loan offer on a table, according to AMK Spor.

The Turkish newspaper claim in their print edition (Tuesday, 21 August) that the ex-Spurs man, who worked as the director of football in north London, is yet to receive a response to his temporary bid for the French international, but has been trying to sell the Super Lig side’s vision in order to convince him to make the switch to Turkey.

It is stated that Sissoko has been told to take the time and think about making the move, with just over a week left of the Turkish transfer market.

Good move for Tottenham?

Once again, after flopping in his first season at the club, Sissoko has been playing an important role in the first team during the early games of this season, but if it goes the way last season did then the French powerhouse will find himself getting less and less game time as the campaign goes on.

He is not really any better than the other options at Mauricio Pochettino’s disposal and with the emergence of Luka Amos over the summer, he is simply acting as a hurdle to the young talents wanting to make their way through into the first team.

A loan might work out well for the club – giving him the chance to warrant a big money price tag so Spurs can recoup most of the £30million they reportedly spent on his capture, but really they would like to see him go permanently for a hefty fee.

Likely to happen?

Considering how he has been a regular feature so far, it seems unlikely Spurs are going to want to let him go without it being beneficial for the club, and a loan exit to Turkey does not seem to be in their best interests.

They would like him advertising his talents on a major European stage, perhaps back in France or Italy, where he can ramp up his price tag for if and when they sell him on.
