A host of European sides are plotting a move for West Ham enforcer Reece Oxford after manager Manuel Pellegrini pulled a u-turn over his plans for him this season, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Irons boss, having previously stated that he would be making use of the 19-year-old defender or midfielder this campaign, has chosen to send the youngster on another temporary move, having spent last season at Borussia Monchengladbach.

It is stated that the east London outfit are wanting to seal a move in the coming days, which has reportedly ignited a potential battle between clubs from France, Germany and Spain.

Good move for West Ham?

If Oxford is not going to play a part in the first team at the London Stadium this summer, then sending him out is definitely the right move.

At 19, he still has plenty of potential to become a success but really needs to knuckle down and get regular game time at a top level side in a bid to prove his worth.

There seem to be questions over his attitude so it could be the reason behind Pellegrini’s decision to send him out, but obviously not enough to force him out permanently.

Likely to happen?

There is obviously a limited about of time before the Hammers can get a move over the line and so they have to work fast in order to find the right move for his temporary exit.

Having spent time in Germany last season, perhaps a trip to France or Spain could see his development head to the next level, working with and against different systems and getting him as well rounded as possible.
