Yannick Bolasie’s nightmare time at Everton could be coming to an end, with former side Crystal Palace considering a move for the winger, according to the London Evening Standard.

The newspaper reports that Palace manager Roy Hodgson is keen to bring in a wide man to replace Bakary Sako, who left the club this summer, with Bolasie being told he can leave Goodison Park by new boss Marco Silva.

The 29-year-old swapped London for Merseyside in a £26million move in 2016, but has struggled to replicate the form he regularly displayed at Selhurst Park.

Everton’s £44million purchase of Richarlison from Watford presumably spelled the end of the DR Congo international’s time as a Toffee.

Good move for Everton?

If Bolasie doesn’t feature in Silva’s plans then it’s best he leaves the club before his value deteriorates even further. The Toffees won’t receive anywhere near the £26million they paid for the winger, but they should bank around £10-15million, not a bad return after the player’s underwhelming time on Merseyside. It’s a shame this move didn’t work out for Bolasie, with the 29-year-old desperately unlucky to pick up a serious injury shortly after making the move to Goodison Park. This is a potential deal that suits everyone involved, with Bolasie hopefully able to rediscover his previous form once he’s back in familiar surroundings.

Likely to happen?

The player’s been told he can leave Everton, and Palace have a gap to plug after Sako’s exit, so there’s no real reason why this deal shouldn’t get completed before the transfer window shuts on Thursday. As long as the two clubs are able to negotiate a fee this one should get done in short order.
