A section of Everton fans are convinced Ademola Lookman will quit the club this week after he was omitted from the squad for Wednesday night’s 3-1 League Cup win against Rotherham.
The wide forward, who has been strongly linked with a move to RB Leipzig by Friday night’s transfer cut-off, was expected by many to feature at Goodison Park but watched from the sidelines due to what Marco Silva subsequently claimed was a groin injury.
Sky Sports journalist Alan Myers quoted the manager as saying Lookman is set to return to training today (Thursday).

Lookman’s absence did not go down well with many Evertonians, who believe his omission was purely due to the fact he is set to join the Bundesliga club.

With RB Leipzig pushing the boat out to try and land Lookman in the next 36 hours, and making no attempt to hide their very public seduction attempts, little wonder Evertonians are smelling a transfer rat. Leipzig recruitment chief Ralf Rangnick revealed at the weekend his club are still hopeful of landing the wide forward amid Sky Sports reports that the have increased their bid to £25million plus add-ons. By contrast, the Merseysiders are said to want £28million. Everton supporters had hoped to see Lookman in the starting XI against Rotherham as Silva rang the changes and made eight alterations to the team that started in the Premier League at the weekend.
