Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is fuming after being told he is going nowhere despite there being offers for his services, according to The Sun.

The national newspaper claim that the 22-year-old, who currently earns £35,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac), has lost his patience with the club as he wants regular football to continue his development.

The Sun report that the Blues have rejected loan offers from Monaco and Schalke for Loftus-Cheek’s services and the midfielder now fears he will not make the England squad for the upcoming Nations League games with Spain and Switzerland.

OPINION

It’s really easy to believe that Loftus-Cheek is frustrated at Stamford Bridge after a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace last season. The 22-year-old did so well for Roy Hodgson’s side that he managed to make Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup and he was no doubt full of confidence about his future. However it seems despite the 22-year-old just wanting to secure a temporary exit from the Blues in order to continue his promising development, he is going to have to get used to sitting on the sidelines. Loftus- Cheek has only tasted 22 minutes of action this season and worryingly for him didn’t even make the squad for the game against Arsenal before being rooted to the bench against Newcastle United. While the transfer window does shut on Friday based on this report it will be a shock if the midfielder gets a move away from the club and that it is disappointing. If Chelsea are not going to regularly use him then they should do what is best for him and loan him out.
