Leeds United have reportedly approached Besitkas with an enquiry about centre-forward Alvaro Negredo.

According to Turkish Footall, Leeds and West Brom have made contact with the Istanbul giants, but are yet to table a bid for the former Manchester City and Middlesbrough powerhouse.

Nicknamed ‘The Beast’, Negredo has been in stunning in Turkey since joining Besiktas from Middlesbrough last summer.

He scored 15 goals and supplied nine assists in 43 appearances across all competitions last season and given his physical attributes and hold-up play, he could be a perfect strike partner to play alongside Patrick Bamford at Elland Road this term.

It would be an absolute dream to see Negredo’s battering-ram style of play next to the neat footwork and pace of Bamford in a front-two if Marcelo Bielsa is able to make his reported approach for the Spaniard pay off.

Negredo is 32-years-old, but his last year in Turkey has proved that he still has plenty in the tank and his past experience of playing in the Premier League would make him a force to be reckoned with in the Championship.

It would likely cost a lot to pry such a key player away from Besitkas, but in a bid to get the Whites back to the Premier League, Andrea Radrizzani must fund this move otherwise he could fall into the clutches of West Brom.
