Leeds United might be on the verge of landing another striker as it was reported that Man City manager Pep Guardiola has cleared striker Lucas Nmecha for immediate talks at Elland Road.
The Sun reported the news, which came out of the blue, on Friday afternoon, after Championship rivals Swansea thought they had secured a deal for the 19-year-old.
However, Guardiola was said to have personally cleared the talks with Leeds as he holds manager Marcelo Bielsa in high regard.
Leeds fans are thrilled by the news, with one fan saying that Nmecha is as good as another Man City prospect, Phil Foden, he just doesn’t get as much press.
Another fan simply responded to the news with a thumbs-up emoji and the word Bielsa – the new Leeds manager is seemingly the reason why Guardiola is prepared to trust his talent at Elland Road.
Here are the best reactions from excited Leeds fans:
Would be a fantastic signing and one we need to bolster the attack. Him and Foden are at a similar level, Nmecha just doesn’t get as much press. #LUFC https://t.co/4EaWwnrgvV

OPINION
You wait all summer for a striker and then two come along at once. Patrick Bamford is the main man for Leeds next season but Lucas Nmecha could be a dazzling understudy who could cause havoc in the Championship as an impact sub. Leeds look like they’ve stolen him from under the noses of their Championship rivals and Bielsa is starting to put together a really strong squad after a quiet start to the summer. We can’t wait to see Jack Harrison and Man City teammate Nmecha combining for Leeds, and nor can the fans, judging by these tweets. It’s set supporters up for a mouth-watering clash against Stoke on Sunday perfectly.
