A section of Leeds United fans were left blown away by the performance of Kalvin Phillips as the Yorkshire giants won 3-0 against Norwich at Carrow Road on Saturday.
Mateusz Klich, Ezgjan Alioski and Pablo Hernandez got themselves on the scoresheet, but it was Phillips, 22, who grabbed a lot of attention as his improved form under Marcelo Bielsa continued in East Anglia.
Some fans were raving about the midfielder on Twitter, with one saying he has “turned into Pirlo”.

Phillips was superb. Great response to being subbed early at Swansea. Especially that block late on #LUFC

Kalvin Phillips cpuld have quite easily let the Swansea sub knock him, instead he came back & bossed it today. What a way to bounce back, well done that man #lufc #MOT #alaw

OPINION
Phillips did not have the best of games against Swansea in the week and was substituted off after just 22 minutes, but as many fans pointed out, the way that he bounced back from that game and put in one of his best performances in a Leeds shirt deserves a lot of credit. It would have been easy to have been down in the dumps about what happened in Wales, but instead, Phillips was hailed as being the man of the match by some of the supporters, and even got compared to Italian legend Andrea Pirlo. It is mad just how well Bielsa has some of these players playing. Go back to the start of this year and fans were tearing their hair our over Phillips and demanding that Thomas Christiansen and Paul Heckingbottom stopped playing him. Now, he is one of the first names on the teamsheet. Hopefully he can continue this form over the course of the season because as he is only 22 years old, there is still room for him to get better and better.
