Swansea are set to complete a loan move for Tottenham’s American defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, according to the BBC.
The deal should go through befor the EFL loan deadline on August 31 but it is not expected to be completed in time for this weekend’s matches.
Chris Wathan, a BBC journalist, made that claim on his personal Twitter page.
The attached BBC report said that other Championship sides had been linked but that Swansea have won out.

OPINION
Swansea looked like a team transformed in their 2-2 draw with a resurgent Leeds and this could be a great move for Carter-Vickers. From the evidence on Tuesday, Swansea will be competing for an instant return to the Premier League and that will provide the Tottenham defender with a great stage to showcase his talents on. A good move for Carter-Vickers then, but also a great move for Swansea. They’re getting a defender who has had his path to the Tottenham first-team blocked as it looks like Toby Alderweireld is staying on. But Carter-Vickers enjoyed a solid second half of the season with Ipswich in 17/18 and he should be able to push on further in a better team. It doesn’t look like Swansea will be able to call on him for their match Bristol City on Saturday, but he could make the bench for the cup game against Premier League opposition Crystal Palace on Tuesday night.
