Swansea City would stun their Championship rivals if they successfully signed Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones anytime soon.

TEAMTalk reported on Saturday that the Swans alongside Hull City and Sheffield United were keeping tabs on the 23-year-old ahead of next week’s transfer window slamming shut.

However the football outlet also claimed that Rangers were preparing a £500,000-a-week move in order to recruit Jones with their bitter rivals Celtic considering making a last-gasp attempt to snap up the exciting talent.

The three Championship sides are at a disadvantage compared to their Scottish in the race to sign Jones as they would only be able to attempt to loan him at this stage and commit to making a deal permanent once the January window opens.

While this is the case that doesn’t mean the Swans won’t be able to come to some sort of agreement regarding securing Jones’ services as Kilmarnock had previously hoped to keep him on their books until January.

Graham Potter’s side could use Jones now but if promising to let Kilmarnock keep him until January saw them win his services than it’s a compromise worth agreeing too.

Then again if the Swans commit to paying a bigger fee for his services in January than any other side in the hunt for him then they could always borrow him now and pay later.

The Swans would be instantly improved by capturing Jones as the talent is a fabulous attacking threat due to his creative vision and crossing ability.

Jones also looks capable of being an attacking threat for his side which makes him a very exciting prospect to watch.

The winger showcased the best of his ability for Kilmarnock last season when he scored four goals, while creating 10, in the 41 appearances he made across all competitions.

The 23-year-old has all the tools in his locker in order to take the Championship by storm and this means that if the Swans successfully signed him then it would stun his rivals especially when you consider how packed the race is for his services.
