Leeds United have got their Championship campaign off to a great start, with a wonderful  3-1 victory against Stoke City – and it gave fans a clear idea of what to expect going forward.

The Whites went into the opening game of the season as underdogs against recently relegated Stoke but a hard-working display gave United three well deserved points.

The Guardian claimed on their website that new Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa wanted to find out how hard the average supporter had to work to pay for a ticket to watch the team and, based on the win, it seems that the manager has helped to create a great team spirit for his side, as well making the players play with desire and working to their limit for their loyal and equally hard-working supporters.

Leeds showed incredible amounts of effort to gain the ball as quickly as possible in order to gain possession and remained a threat when going forward and it seems that their new manager has got the team playing with a fierce pressing mentality which the club have lacked in previous seasons and a two-goal lead going into the half-time break was thoroughly deserved.

There will be no place in Bielsa’s starting eleven for squad members who are unwilling to contribute their all for the Argentine boss and will be axed from a regular starting spot if they are unable to meet the demands of a determined coach.

After such a gutsy performance on Sunday, it seems like Leeds could be ready to end their Championship limbo and experience the good times at Elland Road once again with a manager who seems to take a different yet positive approach to the others that have taken over the role before him.
