A section of Aston Villa fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that the club has tabled a shock bid for Barcelona defender Yerry Mina.
Italian news outlet Tutto Mercato Web has claimed that Villa have offered £17.8million for Colombia international Mina, 23, as new co-owner Nassef Sawiris attempts to strengthen Steve Bruce’s squad.
The claims have understandably been a huge shock, especially as the West Midlands club are still having to try and avoid breaking Financial Fair Play regulations and more than likely have to sell players in order to buy new ones.
And some Aston Villa fans have approach the rumour with scepticism, while one claims that Tottenham will eventually want him for £3million in a dig at tight-fisted owner Daniel Levy.

I have it on good authority from a reliable source that Yerry Mina will not be joining #AVFC.
That source is common sense.

OPINION
You can see why these Aston Villa fans are refusing to believe that there is anything in this report. Mina has been linked to the likes of Manchester United and Everton this summer, so there is no way that he would choose to join the Villains, even if Barcelona accepted that so-called bid. It has given the fans a bit of a laugh though in what has been a tough summer to support the West Midlands club. The takeover has pulled the club out of the abyss, but it seems that some European news outlet are suddenly starting to think that they are about to go on a crazy spending spree.
