A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at a triple transfer update from Phil Hay.
The respected Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent reported on his personal social media account on Monday morning that United’s bid to sign a goalkeeper has reached a dead end.
In an exchange with a Leeds fan, Hay explained he does not expect the club the sign Birmingham City keeper David Stockdale and attempts to land Angus Gunn from Manchester City and Chelsea’s Jamal Blackman have failed to get off the ground.
at this stage I don't see Stockdale materialising either. Someone would need to budge. Gunn hasn't moved, Blackman is back in pre-season with Chelsea. Not sure how this one will turn out.

Looking forward to the tweet that says Leeds bielsa has said we already have enough in the squad from what he’s seen to be getting on with . Translated in to We’ve spent all our money on a manager – joke!

Wtf is going on? We don’t have a single striker at the club and we have one goalkeeper at the club who has played 12 senior games. Haven’t even mentioned the left back position and having to the majority of pre season with one centre half at the club. Things need to get moving

Let’s not forget that Phil is in the know, but won’t know everything that’s going on. The club surely have a plan and as far as Kinnear is concerned, we’re in “total control” of negotiations.

Good old Leeds United, they never stop the constant crushing disappointment.

COMMENTARY:
With less than a month remaining before the window for permanent transfers slams shut and just one loanee through the door so far, even the biggest admirers of Andrea Radrizzani, Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear would not dare claim it has been a great few months for incoming deals. Sure, a manager of genuine calibre in Marcelo Bielsa has been secured after negotiations that would no doubt have been extremely tough, but there is no point having the Argentine if he has handed the same squad that limped to a 13th place in the Championship last season. Leeds fans are right to be fretting and will continue to do so until a few quality signings are paraded on the club’s official media channels.
