A section of Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter express their anger and frustration after Phil Hay reported their club are set to lose out in their pursuit of Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon.
Various outlets, including Football Insider, have claimed today that United matched Derby County’s £2.5million bid for the 27-year-old and were granted permission to hold talks with him.
But Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Hay reported on his personal Twitter account on Thursday afternoon that Jozefzoon is heading to Derby after agreeing the terms of a four-year contract.
It will be Derby for Florian Jozefzoon. Expected to take up a four-year contract there. #lufc

This has not gone down well with Leeds followers agitated by the club’s absence of transfer activity.

COMMENTARY:
Any more transfer bad news and Leeds fans won’t have any keys left on their already hammered keyboards. The news that Jozefzoon is headed to Derby, the club who supposedly needed to cash in on Leeds striker target Matej Vydra to make ends meet, is the latest nail in the coffin of a window that has been virtually dead as far as incomings are concerned. It started promisingly as Marcelo Bielsa was recruited and the club were reportedly in advanced talks for stellar players like Kyle Bartley, Vydra and Hernandez, but that has now faded to give way to disappointment and despair among the supporters. Who can blame them? A team with Liam Cooper at centre-back, Kemar Roofe leading the front line and Kalvin Phillips chugging along in central midfield is destined to still be in the Championship in a year’s time. And, every fan knows that.
