Tottenham rising starĀ Omari Forson has been training with Everton this week ahead of a potential transfer, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim the Spurs Under-14s prodigy has caught the attention of rival Premier League clubs due to his performances at youth team level.

The Mail report that Forson, a left-footed forward, has been at Everton but there is also strong interest in him from Manchester City, with the club’s state-of-the art academy particularly attractive to his family.

Good move for Tottenham?

Not really. Spurs have an excellent reputation for developing and nurturing young talent, with Harry Kane, Danny Rose and Harry Winks the shining stars of an academy that has produced dozens of players for the first team in the last decade. Others have also established themselves in the senior side for extended periods, including Tom Carroll, Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb. Tottenham certainly would not want to lose a highly rated young player to a well-heeled rival, and it would be a major disappointment for them if wonderkid Forson joined Everton or City. The compensation costs would make little difference.

Likely to happen?

Spurs reportedly do not want to lose the youngster, and will be due compensation for development costs if he does leave this summer, but Forson is already training with Everton and has one foot out of the exit door. City have the pulling power and resources to make the teenager an even more attractive offer, so the Toffees have their work cut out to get this deal done.
