Moussa Sissoko might not be to the taste of Tottenham fans used to Christian Eriksen lording it or Mousa Dembele instigating attacks with his unique combination of power and technique.

But the France international would be a brilliant signing this summer for Wolves as they look to establish themselves on their Premier League return.

The Midlands giants have some fine players in their ranks who should make a big impact in the English top flight, such as Ruben Neves, the central midfielder with the class and composure to mix it with the very best.

What they really need is a driving force with the ability to carry the ball forward and penetrate opponents in the final third.

According to information-gathering site Football Whispers, Sissoko is most likely to be the next Wolves signing, ahead of the likes of Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish and Watford striker Andre Gray.

Standing at 6ft 2in (source: Transfermarkt), the former Newcastle United player is athletic, powerful and, on his day, almost unstoppable.

Spurs and Toon fans complain those days don’t come around often enough, and his lack of end product prevents him being the top-rank player his talent suggests he should be.

But it is not possible to accumulate 53 France caps in what is promising to be a golden era for the national side without being a mighty fine player.

Sissoko could be a huge asset to Wolves next season if they can beat off other interested parties to sign him, either on loan or permanently.
