West Ham are edging closer to wrapping up a triple swoop that will see Jack Wilshere, Andriy Yarmolenko and Fabian Balbuena all snapped up by the club, according to the Times.

The newspaper claims via their website that former Arsenal playmaker Wilshere has already passed a medical with the Hammers, while Borussia Dortmund attacker Yarmolenko and Corinthians defender Baluena are also scheduled to undergo medicals with the Premier League club.

It is understood that West Ham will sign Yarmolenko for £17.5million after agreeing a fee with Dortmund, while a swoop for Paraguay international Balbuena will see interest in Swansea’s Alfie Mawson come to an end.

Good move for West Ham?

Manuel Pellegrini has not wasted any time in strengthening his newly-inherited squad in East London, and so far, the signs are very good for West Ham fans.

Wilshere should be a solid addition to the midfield while Ukraine international Yarmolenko will bolster Pellegrini’s attacking options after an indifferent season at Dortmund.

Balbuena is the only one with question marks. Will he be able to take the huge leap from Brazilian football to the Premier League despite being 26-years-old?

Pellegrini will know more about his fellow South American than anyone, so he can be trusted.

Likely to happen?

The Times certainly suggests that the triple swoop is close to completion, and when medicals are mentioned it’s safe to say that the deals will more than likely go through.

If Wilshere can pass his medical, then it should be no problem for Yarmolenko and Balbuena to also pass their’s.
