Aston Villa are desperately seeking to sell Ross McCormack this summer with Sunderland plotting an ambitious loan move to take him to League One on loan, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Scotland international striker has no future at Villa Park after falling out of favour under boss Steve Bruce, which saw him shipped out to Melbourne City last season, where he proceeded to net 13 goals in 15 appearances.

With the financial difficulties the club are under, Villa are said to be keen to see him off the books, and Sunderland could offer a temporary solution to their issue, in what would be a great move for a third tier outfit.

Good move for Aston Villa?

Only because he has no future to play under Bruce, but were another manager in charge he could be a real success.

He has the goal scoring prowess that so many second tier clubs would love to have at their disposal, and he is going to waste with the Villans.

However, a loan move is not the way forward, as it is only a temporary fix to a long-term issue.

They need him sold, his wages off their books and his attitude out the door sooner rather than later.

Likely to happen?

Villa know that another loan move is not the answer to their problems and they will be actively seeking to get him a permanent move elsewhere.

Sunderland might be ambitiously hunting his capture but in reality, somewhere that can offer him more money is likely to be his final destination.
