Leeds United drew 1-1 with Southend at Roots Hall in a pre-season clash on Sunday afternoon, and some fans have taken to Twitter to slam the display of attacking Ezgjan Alioski.
The Whites found themselves behind early on as Harry Lennon headed the League One side into the lead after 20 minutes, but a goal from right-back Luke Ayling drew them level 15 minutes later.
Leeds missed a brilliant chance to win the game with just minutes remaining as Ayling’s effort was cleared off the line, with the sides sharing the spoils after 90 minutes.
Fans have now taken to Twitter to react to Alioski’s below-par display, with many questioning why the club were keeping hold of him this summer.
This is Futbol have rounded up some of the best tweets:
I really want to like Alioski because his work rate is second to none. But alas he, like many others in this team, just isn't good enough.#lufc

More porridge to Saiz and Alioski. Probably to weak for the Championship.

It's only been a couple of months but I'd forgotten just how much Alioski, Dallas and Bearadi were stealing a living at #lufc if that's all we've got, we're doomed! #lufcawaydays

Better from Leeds this half. Forshaw looks very good. But Alioski is having another shocker. Maybe he's just not as good as we all thought at the start. Looking forward to seeing Roberts now #lufc

I'm only half-watching, but we've had some lovely build up out the back and between Phillips-Forshaw-Saiz, but SO MANY ATTACKS are dying at Alioski's feet. #lufc

OPINION
Leeds fans have obviously been left wanting by Alioski’s latest performance, and it is easy to see why. The Macedonia international was disappointing all day, with his first touch letting him down on multiple occasions and preventing the Whites from building many meaningful attacks. In all honesty, Alioski’s form for the club has been far too inconsistent, and unless that changes he should be deemed surplus to requirements by Marcelo Bielsa. The club need players of a higher quality if they want to achieve promotion next season, and if players like him stick around, then that aim will likely not be realised.
