A deal is all but done for Leeds United winger Hadi Sacko to leave the club and join Las Palmas, according to Canarias 7.

The Spanish news outlet claim on their website that the 24-year-old Mali international, who has a cap for his country, has completed the move from England to Spain this summer, after weeks of negotiations between the two clubs over his sale.

Having struggled for game time last season, making just three starts in 18 appearances across all competitions for Leeds, it is stated that Sacko has agreed to the switch to secure more first team game time, and that his official arrival is set to be announced imminently.

Opinion

Sacko was one of the many attackers at Elland Road last season who simply did not live up to expectation, which really should have come as no surprise after a disappointing first season at the club. Getting him off the books is in the best interests of the club and it means that they now have some extra funds both in the transfer kitty as well as in their wage budget. Manchester City’s Jack Harrison is said to be inbound to the Whites, so perhaps he is taking Sacko’s place as backup to the first team. If so, that still leaves some funds for Marcelo Bielsa to spend on some new recruits, as the club’s transfer activity hots up in the final weeks of the window. After a slow start, it looks as though the Leeds fans’ patience is starting to pay off, and they will certainly not be mourning Sacko’s imminent exit.
