A section of Newcastle United fans have taken to Twitter to urge the club to sign up West Brom playmaker Nacer Chadli after he impressed them in his appearances for Belgium at the World Cup.
Chadli, 28, barely played for the Baggies last season as they were relegated from the Premier League, appearing just six times in all competitions.
However he has been on fire for Belgium in the World Cup this summer, scoring a last-minute winner against Japan in the round of 16 before his corner forced an own goal from Brazil in the quarter-finals on Friday night.
Now, some Newcastle fans are calling on Rafa Benitez to sign up Chadli, who will more than likely be on the move this summer due to the £17million release clause in his contract, as reported by the Express and Star.

OPINION
Newcastle fans need to try and avoid falling into that trap of seeing players doing well at a World Cup, because they rarely ever replicate that at club football in the following season. Chadli started off well at West Brom in 2016 after he joined them from Tottenham, but his performances have slowly got worse and last summer he refused to go on a pre-season training camp before spend most of the campaign injured and unfit. Do Newcastle really need a player with that attitude? He has been made to look good by being surrounded by players like Romelu Lukaku, Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne. Benitez should really avoid him.
