Everton are yet to make a single signing yet this summer, but they can get their transfer business off to a bang with a double raid on Barcelona for Lucas Digne and Yerry Mina.

According to the Times, Everton have already opened talks with the La Liga giants about signing Digne, 24, as Marco Silva remains in the hunt for a left-back as a possible replacement for the ageing Leighton Baines.

French ace Digne joined Barca in 2016, but has been a bit-part player since, appearing just 46 times in all competitions for the club, with most of them coming off the bench.

The attack-minded left-back, who according to Sport had a £53million release clause, would be a terrific addition at Goodison Park and could be one of the first name’s on Silva’s teamsheet for years to come.

Everton also need bolstering at the centre of defence too after a shocking season by the likes of Ashley Williams and 2017 signing Michael Keane.

Spanish news outlet Sport has recently claimed that Mina, 23, is the subject of bids worth over £26.5million from Everton, West Ham and Leicester after an impressive World Cup for Colombia in which he scored three goals in three appearances – including one against England.

The 6ft 4in Colombian colossus would also be a top signing for the Toffees, who are in need of someone who can head away crosses for fun and also pose a threat in the opposition box with the amount of set-piece specialists currently on the books at Goodison.

After the huge spending in 2017, it seems that Everton have been a bit more cautious this year and are yet to welcome anyone since appointing Silva in charge and hiring Marcel Brands as the new director of football.

However it is surely just a matter of time before there are new faces at Finch Farm, and Digne and Mina must be snapped up soon.
