Both Leeds United and Derby County have seen £1.5million bids rejected for Brentford winger Florian Jozefzoon, according to football website Football Insider.

Now, they’ve claimed that Lampard’s Derby have come back in with a second bid worth £2.5million as they attempt to blast their Championship rivals out of the water.

Brentford don’t want to sell and you can see why. 27-year-old Jozefzoon has been hugely impressive for Brentford since he joined in January 2017 from PSV Eindhoven.

In 62 games for the Bees, the former Netherlands Under-21 international has scored eight goals and registered 10 assists in 62 games.

He’s impressed his Championship rivals so much that both Frank Lampard and Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa have named him as one of their top summer targets.

Aside from the appointment of Bielsa – an admittedly electric one for Leeds – things have been eerily quiet at Elland Road.

Chelsea goalkeeper Jamal Blackman is set to join on loan but Leeds need new players who can supply goals – and Jozefzoon will do that, as well as creating plenty for others.

Now Victor Orta needs to go back in and match or better Derby’s offer, or risk losing out on a player who can really damage the opposition in the Championship.
