Fenerbahce sporting director Damien Comolli has jetted into Scotland for talks with Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos, according to Fanatik.

The Turkish news outlet claims that the Fenerbahce chief will try and finalise a transfer while in the UK, if there is a positive outcome to talks with the 22-year-old Ibrox star.

It is understood that Besiktas have also been interested in Morelos, who scored 18 goals in 43 first team appearances across all competitions last season.

Good move for Rangers?

It all depends on the fee.

The Gers were reported to have rejected big-money offers for Morelos earlier this year as clubs from China lined up moves for the Colombian forward, but since then his form has dropped off a cliff and despite him signing a new contract, there’s little chance that they will attract equal offers from Turkey.

Fenerbahce seem very keen on the 22-year-old, but given the amount of goals he scored last season, it would not be a good move for the Light Blues to cash in on him just yet as one more prolific season on his CV will really attract some big offers.

Likely to happen?

Rangers have already seen Jason Cummings and Kenny Miller leave Ibrox since the end of last season and Eduardo Herrera may also be on his way out, meaning that Morelos is the only striker left from last term.

It’s unlikely that the club would be willing to let him go until a replacement is brought in beforehand so it’s hard to see this move going through yet, but that could all change as we delve deeper into the summer.
