Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing striker Lewis Grabban from Bournemouth for £5 million, according to the Sun.

The newspaper reports on their website that the 3o-year-old has been told by boss Eddie Howe that he is allowed to leave the club in this summer’s transfer window, and Grabban is expected to be announced as a Forest player later this week after talks between the two clubs reached an advanced stage.

The forward was the Championship’s second highest scorer last season, bagging 20 goals while on loan at Sunderland and Aston Villa, and the Cherries are seemingly deciding to profit from his services this summer, rather than let him go for free next year.

Good move for Nottingham Forest?

Yes, absolutely. Despite facing disappointment in the Play-Off Final against Fulham, Grabban enjoyed a magnificent season on loan last term, and his statistics go to show that.

Nottingham Forest are building up a team more than capable of promotion next season, and with this new addition, they are certainly going to improve upon their 17th place from last season.

Grabban is a prolific striker, and he is just what Forest needed to prove their promotion pedigree.

Likely to happen?

Yes, defnitely. Forest are on the verge of signing Grabban, and there are no obstacles that could delay the move now.

He will certainly thrive in the Championship once again, and replicate the form that saw Nottingham Forest develop their interest in the first place.

The Cherries are letting go of a player that could be a real star for them, but that is their loss and the Reds’ gain.
