The prospect of playing in the Premier League is fast approaching for Wolves, and they will be waiting in trepidation ahead of the start of their top-flight return after a number of years away.

Boss Nuno Espirito Santo will undoubtedly want to be known as the manager who keeps them in the country’s top league, and in order to do that, he needs to have a team full of sufficient talent and hard workers at his disposal.

Huddersfield’s Aaron Mooy may just help him achieve that coveted aim.

Australian outlet The World Game recently reported that Newcastle have renewed their interest in signing the £20million-rated 27-year-old from the Terriers, but Wolves must secure his capture for themselves to establish the club as a Premier League mainstay for the forseeable future.

The midfield kingpin starred for Australia in this summer’s World Cup, but was one of the country’s star performers in their premature exit from the tournament.

He has had an impressive season with Huddersfield, helping them ensure their top-flight survival in a hugely competitive relegation battle.

However, he would be the perfect addition to Wolves, especially after midfielder Alfred N’Diaye returned his parent club, and he will leave a major gap in the middle of the park.

N’Diaye allowed the more creative and technically gifted midfielders to go forward and attack while he provided stable cover to the back line, and this is exactly what Mooy is capable of replicating for the club as well.

Huddersfield paid Manchester City £10million for the Australia international last summer, but that could be set to rise after a successful season – but with their financial backing, Wolves would be more than able to pay this type of sum for Mooy’s services.

Wolves need a player who is committed to being a hard worker, a quality which Mooy is renound for at his current club.

They now need to secure his signing to ensure that their future in the Premier League is safe.
