A section of West Ham fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that the club is in pursuit of former Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain attacker Hatem Ben Arfa.
Reliable French journalist Nizar Hanini has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Hammers are a “new suitor” for Ben Arfa, 31, after he left PSG when his contract expired at the end of last season.
Nouveau prétendant pour #BenArfa : #WestHam

The gifted dribbler failed to make a single appearance for the Ligue 1 champions last season, and now it seems that he could be heading to the London Stadium this summer to have another shot at the Premier League after spells at Newcastle and Hull.
Some West Ham fans have been left divided on potentially signing the France international, with one saying that he would be “phenomenal” if Manuel Pellegrini signed him.
10000% would take him! On his day absolutely phenomenal and I think MP would get the best out of him!!

Serious serious amount of talent for a free transfer. Never really reached his potential.

He can play attacking midfielder as well , until Lanzini comes back he can do the job , although i agree that we need a dm as soon as possible.

OPINION
It seems that most West Ham fans would rather the club avoided Ben Arfa this summer, however there are some who could see him being a decent addition. It’s hard to judge how the Frenchman can perform still after so many serious injuries in his career and his lack of football in the last year. And if you cannot judge his form, then the Hammers should really avoid him. Pellegrini does not need another attacking midfielder like him. Instead the Chilean needs to look into getting a new centre-forward or defensive midfielder. Ben Arfa would have been good last summer maybe, but not now, that ship has sailed.
