West Brom striker Salomon Rondon must be sold to make way for Derby County striker Matej Vydra.

As reported by Chronicle Live, Premier League club Newcastle United are interested in £16.5m-rated Rondon and could make a move for him this summer as Rafael Benitez is a fan.

West Brom need to take advantage of this interest, as the Venezuelan is not worth that reported fee, and the club could even make a profit should they re-sign their former forward Vydra.

Derby striker Vydra is valued up to £12million by his club, as reported by Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay, so the Baggies need to make him their top priority this summer as he would score a lot more goals in the Championship that Rondon would.

The Czech Republic international had a spell at The Hawthorns in the 2013/14 Premier League season and despite only making nine starts in that season, he still managed to score three goals and produce four assists. He was a popular player during his spell at the club and popped up with some important goals, but he’s a much better player now than he was then.

The reported valuation is an absolute steal for a player of his quality, who could lead the club back to the Premier League at the first attempt. Last season at the Pride Park Stadium he scored 22 goals in just 44 appearances, showcasing just how much he’s improved since his loan at the Baggies and those goals would be most welcome for Albion boss Darren Moore.

Rondon is a fan favourite at The Hawthorns and works hard for the team but he simply doesn’t score enough goals and if the club can recoup the reported fee, then that would be a great bit of business. But, signing former striker Vydra would surely be the best business of all this summer.
