Tottenham have been linked with a move for France right-back Benjamin Pavard this summer in the Mirror, if centre-back Toby Alderweireld leaves, and a section of Spurs fans are excited by the news.
Pavard has been shining for Deschamps’ side in Russia this summer, although he’s being played out of his normal position, with the 22-year-old playing at centre-back for Stuttgart.
And the news that Levy has his sights set on him for Spurs has had fans flocking onto Twitter to respond.
One fan has said that his versatility would make him the perfect player for Pochettino to sign, as he could play on the right of a back-three for Tottenham.
However, other fans think that he is more like to join Bayern Munich, although one fan said they were still negotiating a fee and that it would be “huge” if Daniel Levy could pull off a deal.
Tottenham fans will get another chance to see how Pavard performs on the biggest stage of them all as he is expected to line-up for France in the World Cup final today against Croatia.
Here are the best reactions to the possibility of Pavard joining Tottenham:
Agreed. His efforts at #WorldCup have shown that he would be brilliant as the RCB in a back three for Spurs. But only if Toby does leave. Wouldn't mind signing him and loaning him back if we hold on to Toby.

Been hoping for this signing!

He is a centerback who is playing right back for France because Sidibe was injured and can't defend either. IF Toby leaves, and the writing is on the wall, then Pavard is a brilliant option to step in.

Agreed personal terms I believe, still negotiating a fee. Could be huge if we pull it off

OPINION
Some Tottenham fans have been thrown by the fact that Pavard has played as a marauding right-back for France this World Cup. But his normal position is centre-back in the Bundesliga and he’s been brilliant there. The fact that he can turn his hand to right-back as well, with speed and the ability to run with the ball, makes him a “brilliant option” as one fan pointed out on Twitter.
