A section of Tottenham fans on social media have been left baffled after it was reported that the North London club is in hot pursuit of Juventus centre-forward Gonzalo Higuain.
Italian newspaper Corriere della Serra claims via their website that Spurs, Chelsea and AC Milan are all interested in signing Higuain, 30, this summer, with Juventus slapping a £53.3million price-tag on his head.
It is understood that Spurs and Chelsea have not made a bid for the Argentina international yet, but some Tottenham fans have been taking to Twitter to air their thoughts on the report.
And it seems that most are struggling to believe that Mauricio Pochettino or Daniel Levy would want the former Real Madrid striker, with one saying that the report is a “joke”.

OPINION
The long Tottenham go without making a signing, the more that fans will have to get used to these kinds of rumours. There’s just no way that Spurs would be in for Higuain this summer and there’s no way that he would be happy to go to North London and play second fiddle to Harry Kane. The bewilderment of these fans is completely justified as an increasing number of names are now getting link with their club. It seems that a lot of these reports are surfacing from Italy and Turkey though, with the only trustworthy reports in the UK claiming that Jack Grealish is wanted by Pochettino.
