Tottenham are in the hunt to sign Juventus centre-forward Gonzalo Higuain, according to Corriere della Serra.
The Italian news outlet claims that Chelsea and AC Milan are also interested in signing the 30-year-old Argentina international, with the San Siro club contacting his brother, who is also his agent, about a summer move.
It is understood that Spurs have not yet made an offer to sign the £130,000-a-week forward, who is valued at £53.5million by Juventus.
Good move for Tottenham?
While Higuain is one of the most well-known strikers in world football, there is no way that Spurs should be looking to sign him.
It would more than likely take a club record deal to pry the ex-Real Madrid star away from Juventus, which seems pointless when Harry Kane is nailed-on to be Mauricio Pochettino’s main striker next season.
Although Higuain scored 23 goals in 50 appearances across all competitions last season and helped Juve win the Serie A title, he is nowhere near as good as Kane and Spurs should avoid signing him at all costs.

Likely to happen?
Tottenham already have Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente to play as back-up options to Kane and there’s no way that Higuain would move to North London to play in the England international’s shadow.
Daniel Levy would also on broker a deal that expensive on someone who is young and up-and-coming, not someone who has started to show signs that he is no longer the prolific forward he once was.
